If you pet gets away from you at any time do NOT go chase him and don’t ask “where is my pet” for 10 minutes. Instead, you immediately cast invis on your self, and then recast your pet.
Always watch your pets health. Clerics will rarely do so. You will not be welcome in a group if you have to keep casting pets every 5 minutes.
If you use a monster summons, remember that some monsters will cast an AE spell. Be SURE to test this out before hand on a safe mob.
Try to get buffs and sow for pet if possible. Don’t be sure, just ask. Pets perform much better when buffed, and can tank very very well.
If you pet is on the wrong mob, use back off…target the right one… then attack.
Always ask a group if they would like a pet or not. Most will want one.
If you are every “told” how to play your character, simply remind them that you are comfortable in your role. If they witness your playing and don’t like it, they have the option to ask you to leave group if you chose not to play “their way”
